My wife just got a Dimension 4500 S, which if I'm not mistaken is
basically just like a OptiPlex GX260.  We also have the 1702FP.  We were
unable to get X to work at all on the card. :(  We finally just added a
Radeon 7500 in the extra PCI slot and then everything worked fine.
