Yes, you're right, I mean Kudzu, not anaconda.

And that little ignore button is the problem, not the solution. I don't need 
the constant detect/redetect of hardware on my system. I think I may just 
disable it in all run levels, so that I can run it manually if I change 
hardware.

On the side of the software box, in the 'System Requirements' section, it said 
'Requires Windows 95 or better'. So I installed Linux and lived happily ever 
after.
