Steve: I think you should also contemplate switching from Kmail to Mozilla Mail, as I did. For a couple of months, I used Kmail, in Valhalla, with this mailing list, and it seemed to work OK, but Konqueror in Valhalla had problems with Secure sites, so I switched to Mozilla for browsing, in Valhalla. Mozilla is far more configurable, for Security & Privacy, in the browser and the mail client. Hopefully soon, if it's not already available, a stable Plug In Spell Checker will be available for Mozilla Mail.
