Your original post was sent as a single line which stretched off the
screen.  I wrapped it so that it was readable.  You don't give a lot of 
debugging information about your problem so it's hard to say what it is. 
 You say that: "the DHCPd service always reports a failure, no error
message is generated (apart from copyright info and stuff on setting DNS
option)", so what exactly is the text of the reported failure?  Have you
searched your /var/log/messages with grep -i "dhcp" /var/log/messages ?

What does your /etc/dhpcd.conf look like?
