Kernel 2.4.28-17.8.0 Slow Panels
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
A week or so ago, after installing RH
8.0, the Up2Date agent upgraded my kernel from 2.4.18-14 to 2.4.18-17.8.0.
Now I usually think upgrades and updates are a good thing, but this time
around it's been a problem. Using either Gnome or KDE. the panels take
an incredibly long time to load -- almost to the point of being unusable..
Fortunately, Up2Date doesn't remove
the "obsolete" kernel, so I'm able to avoid the problem. On the
other hand, one assumes RH updated the kernel for a reason. Has anyone
else run across this problem and is there a fix for it?
Thanks.
