Hi Dale, Thanks for your advice. Maybe I have not explained clear in my previous email. What I expect to do are 1) Using the 'tar' command to backup the complete hard drive, partition by partition and save it on the slave drive (I have only 3 partitions in the hard drive created automatically at time of installation) 2) Reformat the hard drive including its re-partitioning. I am not going to make a fresh installation of RH8.0 3) Restore/untar the tarball back to its respective partition.
