Looking at the freshrpms package through synaptic, xine has the following dependencies: xine-libs = 0.9.13 bash XFree86-libs aalib glibc-debug gpm ncurses libpng slang libtermcap zlib I'd highly recommend getting apt and synaptic from freshrpms.net.
