You failed to understand my message.
What do

speed low: 4 speed high: 8
and
speed low: 0 speed high: 4

tell you?

Stop flaming without reason.
Please go back and read my message again.

All I claimed is that I *do* have CD-RW media from Parrot which are
_labelled_ 4x, but can be written at 10x, and internal hardcoded
flags on the CD-RW itself allow that.

Further, I have had high-speed CD-RW which are labelled 4x-10x which
cannot be written 6x, but only 4x, 8x and 10x.

And why did I write that? Because the user in this thread wrote he
has 16x (!) media (you did overlook that in your reply, Message-ID:
<Pine.LNX.4.44.0210271533000.1374-100000@localhost.localdomain>),
but cannot write them at 6x.

So, either they are mislabelled or the drive doesn't like them or
cdrecord plays a role, too.
