My favorite WM is Icewm, www.icewm.org.  It's very fast, easy to
customize, and it doesn't do weird things you don't expect.  You can
also drive it completely with the keyboard if you so desire.

Red Hat does not include it on the CDs, so you have to compile it from
source.
