aic7xxx.o is on boot.img; you could try the aic7xxx_old.o driver which is
on drvblock.img, and see if that works. But even if it does, things may
get complicated later, because the minimum specification for 8.0 is 64MB
ram, and a pentium class processor. In particular there are no i386 kernel
packages on on the discs, though there is for the later errata kernel.
