I upgraded from 7.3 to 8.0 on a test box to see what would happen.  There 
were several changes needed for sendmail and they are all (well mostly) 
included in the docs.

Going from memory...

1. the access line needs some new parameters in sendmail.mc

2. if you're using sasl then you have to add a "DontBlameSendmail" line in 
sendmail.mc so that /etc/sasldb can be read by sendmail (sendmail is no 
longer running as root)

3. sendmail.cf is now in /etc/mail instead of /etc

I think that was all.
