That is for the old AA code though - the new code does *not* require Freetype2, it requires fontconfig. Which is one of the reason it is not enabled by default - only Red Hat 8 supports it out of the box right now. I get AA without tweaking a single line of .js code, honest. Have you changed the fonts used by Mozilla? Is your desktop itself AA'ed?
