I'm relatively new to Linux and have just installed RH8.0. I was delighted to see Jamie Zawinski's WebCollage listed as on of the screensavers ('though not selected by default). After setting it up as my only screensaver, though, it doesn't work. When it kicks in, I just get a blank screen. I can see the lights on the router blinking, so it must be connecting to the web - I just can't see the results. When I select a random screensaver, everything works fine but WebCollage. When I try running it from the command line, I get: [Chip@localhost Chip]$ webcollage -root bash: webcollage: command not found [Chip@localhost Chip]$ /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver/webcollage -root Malformed UTF-8 character (unexpected continuation byte 0xa9, with no preceding start byte) in pattern match (m//) at /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver/webcollage line 800. Malformed UTF-8 character (unexpected continuation byte 0xa9, with no preceding start byte) in pattern match (m//) at /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver/webcollage line 800. The last two lines scroll continuously, with the 0xa9 part changing. Someone suggested I check my version of perl. It's v5.8.0. Any ideas?
