I do add something like this (not deleting it...):
rwcommunity   my__very__strong_password    127.0.0.1
syslocation Somewhere over the rainbow
syscontact Devil <devil@hell.com>

If you add the above line to your /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf and then run

cfgmaker my__very__string_password@127.0.0.1 does it work then for you?

Many things changed in Psyche... ucd-snmp is no longer used, but net-snmp. 
Mrtg was also updated.... So, many things you might be use to will no longer 
work...
