Moving the Beginning of a Partition

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I am modifying the the Partition Layout on an IBM RAID Disk Array.

There are 4 Primary Partitions, and 4 logical partitions.

I have decreased Partition #3 from 25 GB to 18 GB, so that I can
increase
partition #8 (a logical partition).

I need to modify the start of the Logical Partition #4 so that I can
delete Partition #8 and recreate it using the New Found Free Space.

Can I Change the starting location? Do I need to delete the Existing
Partition and recreate it? If I delete #4 will 5-8 go away as well (if
so, can I simply re-add them back without losing data?)?

Any assistance is appreciated.
