Check out the skipjack beta, 7.2.93, the kernel is 2.4.18. I upgraded a 7.2 machine to skipjack, my home firewall and had no problems with dhcp. Includes a bunch of newer item, KDE 3.0. This is beta so BBW. Is there some thing I can change to get dhcpcd working in 2.4.18? The system is RH7.2 with all the current up2date patched installed. The only packages from the rawhide distribution is the 2.4.18 kernel and its dependicies reported when I instazlled it via rpm -Uvh . I do change the mac address on eth0 to match what my ISP (Mediaone a.k.a. AT&T Broadband, aka attbi.com,) has for my account. The mac address is changed in ifcfg-eth0 as shown below. The system has 2 interfaces and one connects to the ISP and the other to a switch on my internal lan. Every thing else works fine under 2.4.18. The reason I am using it is to get full capacity from my 160GB maxtor drives. If there is a way I can get 48 bit addressing under kernel 2.4.9 I would pursue that as well. Thanks for all assistance!
