Hello,
I have installed kernel 2.4.18 in my system and I notice that dhcpcd and =
pump seem to be broken. When I go back to 2.4.9 it works fine. I have =
gone from 2.4.18 back to 2.4.9 and then back to 2.4.18 and it is =
repeatable. Im not sure what changes as far as network code to cause =
this. Is there some thing I can change to get dhcpcd working in 2.4.18? =
The system is RH7.2 with all the current up2date patched installed. The =
only packages from the rawhide distribution is the 2.4.18 kernel and its =
dependicies reported when I instazlled it via rpm -Uvh . I do change the =
mac address on eth0 to match what my ISP (Mediaone a.k.a. AT&T =
Broadband, aka attbi.com,) has for my account. The mac address is =
changed in ifcfg-eth0 as shown below. The system has 2 interfaces and =
one connects to the ISP and the other to a switch on my internal lan. =
Every thing else works fine under 2.4.18. The reason I am using it is to =
get full capacity from my 160GB maxtor drives. If there is a way I can =
get 48 bit addressing under kernel 2.4.9 I would pursue that as well. =
