hello,

I send you the package list I have to install (sure you don´t need all but
for reference about a running system):
rpm -qa | grep mysql
mysql-5.0.45-7.el5
mod_auth_mysql-3.0.0-3.1
mysql-devel-5.0.45-7.el5
mysql-server-5.0.45-7.el5
mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.12-2.2
libdbi-dbd-mysql-0.8.1a-1.2.2
php-mysql-5.1.6-20.el5
mysql-bench-5.0.45-7.el5
qt4-mysql-4.2.1-1
mysql-test-5.0.45-7.el5

just one thing, installing mysql-server is not the same as installing
mysq-xxx
that is what you have to do

Greetings

ESG
