Humm... I'm not sure how exactly logrotate might deal with shell
escape sequences, specially if it expects sh-alike syntax (not
bash-alike). Why don't you try to change the "/opt/`date +%Y/%m/%d`"
to "/opt/$(date +%Y/%m/%d)" and see what happens?
