This is equivalent to the following:
# mkdir -p ~/REDHAT
# mkdir -p ~/REDHAT/RPMS
# mkdir -p ~/REDHAT/SRPMS
# mkdir -p ~/REDHAT/SPECS
# mkdir -p ~/REDHAT/BUILD
# mkdir -p ~/REDHAT/SOURCES
Thanks for Stuart for showing me that syntax - I wasn't aware of that!
You can also use it with the ls command:
# ls /etc/{cron.daily,cron.weekly}
or more interestingly:
# ls /etc/cron{.daily,.weekly}
