There's no need to add on another application; instead, use key
exchanges. Check out `man ssh_keygen` for more info.  This page
(http://servers.linux.com/servers/04/11/04/0346256.shtml?tid=119&tid=47)
has a step-by-step for setting it up for rsync; you should be able to
generalize it as necessary.
