So which ftp we should use, pro-ftpd or vs-ftpd. which is easiest to
configure and maintain thereafter and supported as well.

I simply don't understand why people are afraid from wu-ftpd. It may
have bugs but its working fine for me, and i can't understand why its
not included in RH9 and RHEL etc.

It's dangerous to think that:"ok, it's buggy, but it's working anyway" ....
Or .. you can use some Mic?????ft software , it's sometimes working ..
and buggy :)

Why the developers and persons working
for wu-ftpd dont defend their work and dont try to improve it. Can we
assume that its orphan project...

it's strange, yes ...
So the best you can do: replace wu-ftpd by a supported one.

If I were making the decision it would have to be vs-ftpd. That is however personal preference. I have just had better luck with vs-ftpd. In my experience it is easier to get it running when your new to setting up a ftp server.
