Thanks for the reply.

We use Veritas 5.1, but also tested with 4.5.  Same errors.  That's
odd that FC3 works.

Could you explain a bit more about /sys.  It seems to be drivers.  But
you mean it wouldn't have to be there on a restored system...or would
get recreated?
