Somebody has it wrong. :)

What it means is that you cannot use MULTIPLE SSL virtual host definitions per a single IP address (due to certificate binding per IP). This does not mean you can't have multiple name-based HTTP virtual hosts and a single HTTPS (SSL) virtual host.

Based on the OP's description, he's only trying to add a single SSL name-based virtual host alongside multiple non-SSL name-based virtual hosts. There is NO REASON this should not work, besides misconfiguration.
