Actually the last package which is giving me problems is: > > [root@sandbox root]# rpm -iv openmotif21-2.1.30-8.ia64.rpm > error: Failed dependencies: > libc.so.6.1()(64bit) is needed by openmotif21-2.1.30-8 > libc.so.6.1(GLIBC_2.2)(64bit) is needed by openmotif21-2.1.30-8 > libc.so.6.1(GLIBC_2.3)(64bit) is needed by openmotif21-2.1.30-8 > [root@sandbox root]# > The other packages (compat-....) I was able to locate them and load them through red hat gui package management tool. The openmotif for some reasons I cannot find, and it gives me this dependency error when I try to load it, after downloading it. ia64 is NOT the same thing as x86_64. Your uname -a output shows that your machine is an x86_64. You need to use rpms for the architecture you are running on. The easiest way for you to get the right packages for your architecture and OS is to use up2date and pull the rpms you need straight from rhn. -- Matthew Galgoci System Administrator Red Hat, Inc 919.754.3700 x44155 -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
