Assuming you really do have a Ql23xx card, it should show up in the
output of "lspci -v":

06:01.0 Fibre Channel: QLogic Corp. QLA2312 Fibre Channel Adapter (rev
02)
Subsystem: QLogic Corp.: Unknown device 0100
Flags: bus master, 66Mhz, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 11
        I/O ports at 4000 [size=256]
        Memory at f7ff0000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled] [size=128K]
        Capabilities: <available only to root>

06:02.0 Fibre Channel: QLogic Corp. QLA2312 Fibre Channel Adapter (rev
02)
Subsystem: QLogic Corp.: Unknown device 0100
Flags: bus master, 66Mhz, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 7
        I/O ports at 4400 [size=256]
        Memory at f7fe0000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled] [size=128K]
        Capabilities: <available only to root>

Not to mention the messages you'd see after powering on the machine.
