I am trying to configure inned on rhas3, having some issues. [root@giant news]# rpm -q inn inn-2.3.5-5 [root@giant news]# [root@giant news]# /usr/lib/news/bin/makehistory [root@giant news]# service innd start Starting INND system: [ OK ] [root@giant news]# service innd status innd dead but subsys locked [root@giant news]# [root@giant news]# /usr/lib/news/bin/inncheck /etc/news/expire.ctl:23: malformed line. /etc/news/expire.ctl:30: malformed line. Lines 23 and 30 are the /remember/:10 lines, checking man expire.ctl shows the syntax is OK. More.... 8><------- # cases if you want to keep your history file smaller. /remember/:10 ## Keep for 1-10 days, allow Expires headers to work. This entry uses ## the syntax appropriate when groupbaseexpiry is true in inn.conf. *:A:1:10:never ## Keep for 1-10 days, allow Expires headers to work. This is an entry ## based on storage class, used when groupbaseexpiry is false. #0:1:10:never /remember/:10 *:A:1:32:45 So at present I am at a loss as to why innd is failing to start, logs show a few errors, [root@giant news]# tail -10 news.crit Feb 2 16:33:11 giant last message repeated 2 times Feb 3 09:00:25 giant innd: SERVER cant dbzinit /var/lib/news/history Numerical argument out of domain Feb 10 13:49:19 giant innd: SERVER cant dbzinit /var/lib/news/history Numerical argument out of domain Feb 10 14:08:37 giant innd: SERVER cant dbzinit /var/lib/news/history Numerical argument out of domain Feb 10 14:32:11 giant last message repeated 2 times [root@giant news]# [root@giant news]# tail news.notice Feb 10 13:49:19 giant innd: SERVER cant dbzinit /var/lib/news/history Numerical argument out of domain Feb 10 14:08:37 giant innd: SERVER descriptors 1024 Feb 10 14:08:37 giant innd: SERVER outgoing 1011 Feb 10 14:08:37 giant innd: SERVER cant dbzinit /var/lib/news/history Numerical argument out of domain Feb 10 14:09:04 giant innd: SERVER descriptors 1024 Feb 10 14:09:04 giant innd: SERVER outgoing 1011 Feb 10 14:09:04 giant innd: SERVER cant dbzinit /var/lib/news/history Numerical argument out of domain Feb 10 14:32:11 giant innd: SERVER descriptors 1024 Feb 10 14:32:11 giant innd: SERVER outgoing 1011 Feb 10 14:32:11 giant innd: SERVER cant dbzinit /var/lib/news/history Numerical argument out of domain What's to fix please?
