Hello Nick,

Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support.

Linux* is not one of the supported operating systems on the Intel(R) Desktop Board D865GBF. There are some Linux* drivers for some versions of the operating system available on the Intel(R) website, but no warranty or support is provided for their use. You can use any of the Linux* support groups to see if there are any other drivers available that will provide you with the functions you require.

You may also wish to consider testing an installation with a supported operating system, such as Windows* 98 SE, Windows* 2000, and Windows* XP.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you need further assistance.

Sincerely,

Rick P.

Hello! I've got a real answer from greatest firm! Thank you very much!
IMHO, the problem is not in OS and software. I've wrote about test with old
440BX chipset and have good result.
But I think, that motherboard of intel is not good as like a support! And I will not to buy it in future.

At fist time.

PROBLEM:

I've a serious hardware problem.
More than one year I've used D865GBFL (Intel motherboard) with 3WARE
Escalade 7006-2 ATA RAID Controller with two Seagate Barracuda 120G ATA disks and SuSE
9.0. And I've tested it with new SuSE 9.2 (all worked fine). Now I've got D-Link DFE580TX
Four-port ethernet card. After installation of this adapter into my computer the server
started to hang from several seconds/minutes of work.

It happens and with another PCI a card - Cronyx PCI (8port RS232 controller (http://www.cronyx.ru)). I have not had time to establish the driver of these devices at all!

But! All works well if to establish my 3WARE 7006-2 and simple Intel Ethernet Card i82557.
Strange.

Who knows, why my controllers do not work in pair with 3WARE Escalade 7006-2?

P.S. I've tested it situation with another intel mother board D865GLCL (i865G chipset too).
The result is the same. But All my devices are work fine on a 440BX chipset. (Test on a old ASUS motherboard without needed productivity)

Thank you for any future help.
Nick.
