For network backup solutions, Amanda works quite nicely, is easy to install and to get working, and is pretty darn reliable as far as backups and backup reporting goes.
But amanda won't back up to anything but tape without a lot of hacking, which is a real bummer considering how little disk costs these days (and how much faster it is than tape).
