BTW, What is the way to register in the rpm db, a package that has been
installed with ./configure && make install clean ??

You don't.

You do :-)

The rpm database is only for storing information on the
binary rpm packages installed on your system. It has no support for
software installed directly from source.

http://freshmeat.net/projects/checkinstall/

"CheckInstall keeps track of all files installed by a "make install" or
equivalent, creates a Slackware, RPM, or Debian package with those
files, and adds it to the installed packages database, allowing for easy
package removal or distribution."

Ed, you're always full of useless^H^H^H^Hful information, aren't you? :)

Thanks for the tip.
