Ya, I have run into that in Solaris. IIRC, the 2nnn only works on files in the 
directories top level, subdirectories do not inherit the flag so the files in 
subdirectories are user's group.
I never could figure out why it would work with g+s and not 2nnn.  Solaris can 
seem strange sometimes:-0
