To manage printers, you really need to use the gui printer config that Red Hat supplies.
Hmm... ever since the move to CUPS, I just use the web browser interface at:
http://localhost:631
Not available over the network... in fact I've yet to figure out *how* to make it available over the network... but works like a charm.
