--install the SMP version of the kernel during a fresh
--installation? or, are you suggesting i rebuild the kernel?
--another post says that this version of RH supports up to
--8 Gig, but doesn't say if it does so by default or by
--kernel tweaking *after* the install.
--basically - is this a kernel issue that should have been
--resolved during the install or am i retuning the kernel tonight?

Can someone tell me if RHEL ES ver 3.0 (2.4.21-4.EL #1)
is automatically setup to see memory greater than 1 Gig
after the install?
I put in 1.5 Gig of RAM, but all I see is something close
to 1. Do I need to recompile the kernel or something
to get the box to see anything more?
