Title: RE: kernel config for memory > 1 Gig?

--thanks for the reply -

--perhaps i missed something during the install - how do you
--install the SMP version of the kernel during a fresh
--installation?  or, are you suggesting i rebuild the kernel?

--another post says that this version of RH supports up to
--8 Gig, but doesn't say if it does so by default or by
--kernel tweaking *after* the install.

--basically - is this a kernel issue that should have been
--resolved during the install or am i retuning the kernel tonight?

--thanks again!

It should, just make sure you installed the SMP version of the kernel...

Howdy:
Can someone tell me if RHEL ES ver 3.0 (2.4.21-4.EL #1)
is automatically setup to see memory greater than 1 Gig
after the install?
I put in 1.5 Gig of RAM, but all I see is something close
to 1.  Do I need to recompile the kernel or something
to get the box to see anything more?
Thanks!
