RE: Spring into action with Red Hat training

Its a bit of a catch 22 situation - it seems the only cost affective way to get RH (or pretty much anyone else for that matter) certification is to get your company to pay for it but if you want the cert. to get a job then youre pretty much foo bar'd.

 

Ive trying to persude my company to get me on these type or courses for years and still havent accomplished much - b@stards ;p

 

I'm not sure whats available in the US but in the UK the only official IT certification available to a lot of people are NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications) - I've done a few of these but, to be fair, they're not much use. For example i done a level 3 in 'Install and Supporting IT Systems' and the hardest task was to install an OS - hardly the most demanding task for your average tech. AFAIK, they dont do much beyond that - certainly nothing involving server support - not even 1st line stuff.
