Use up2date with the -d flag.  Then copy those over to your NFS share.

Some problems with this approach:

  1) Must be run from the RHEL system.
  2) up2date will only download RPMs installed on that system.
  3) The datestamp on the RPM is changed to the download date.

I like to maintain archives of all available RPMs for the version/distribution.

I suppose one could grab the source for up2date and hack at it to get the desired results.  Although spidering RHN sounds like more fun.

Any other thoughts?
