If installed as rpm try rpm -e --noscripts sambaxxxxxxx.rpm If tarball go to dir where you compiled samba and try I think it is make uninstall or make uinstall. Else you try to remove the samba libs. I have always installed new versions over the old by using rpm -Uvh option. When compiling samba it does the same thing. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kieran Hood <k_hood@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 28 Jan 2004 18:57:41 -0000 To: redhat-list@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: Samba Question > Hi, I've got an old version of samba installed from RedHat 8, I want to > know if I can just download and install the new version of samba over the > top of it or will I need to uninstall my current version of samba somehow? > Thanks > > -- > Using M2, Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/m2/ > > > -- > redhat-list mailing list > unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe > https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list -- _____________________________________________________________ Web-based SMS services available at http://www.operamail.com. >From your mailbox to local or overseas cell phones.
