According to RH it's not possible. It requires a rebuild. After moving from RH7.3 to AS2.1 I would say that it's not possible. But there may be some folks out there that have some insight into how you would do it. I will say that my MySQL rpms worked on AS2.1 that I built on RH7.3, and the database partition was separate from the system partition so didn't have to be reformatted. I installed AS, installed my db rpms and it worked. Your mileage may vary...
