Kumar,
as suggested, use uname -a to see the current (active) kernel version.
Then use 'rpm -e kernel-2.4.20-24.7' (for example).

If the most recent is not the one your booting, look at /boot/grub/grub.conf 
and the line "default=n" where n (0 to n) indicates which kernel you will 
boot (first kernel in list is 0, next is 1....)
