It seems that you have multiple kernels installed like: 2.4.18-3 2.4.18-3smp 2.4.20-20.7 2.4.20-20.7smp 2.4.20-24.7 2.4.20-24.7smp 2.4.20-27.7 2.4.20-27.7smp And also your /boot directory shows that you are using 2.4.20-20.7 kernel but make sure that which kernel you are using and remove uncessory files and kernel from your system. To enusre which kernel version you are using type "uname -r" which shows kernel number use that kernel files and remove all others.
