Now I suspect when you used the work "driver", what you meant was the
filter to transform a "normal" file into one that the printer can
understand.
Nope - I meant the printer driver. The program that the computer needs
to send the correct control codes to the printer. Without a driver the
printer will not work correctly, if at all. That is why MANY printers
wil NOT work under Linux. No compatible drivers.
