You do not need to modify the /etc/mtab file. This file is not a part
of a system configuration. The file /etc/mtab is just a list of a
currently
mounted filesystems, which is maintained by a 'mount' command.
Therefore, it
will be modified automatically when you reboot without mounting sda.
