disable screensaver in gnome & kde

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I am running X remotely, I have a traffic problem when the screensaver
starts, the traffic increase and even saturate my network.

I have redhat 7.2 version installed, with xscreensaver installed. I thought
deinstalling the package with rpm -e xscreensaver, but other packages show
dependencies with it.

	error: removing these packages would break dependencies:
	xscreensaver >= 3.32 is needed by control-center-1.4.0.1-18     )

I don't know if forcing a deinstallation will affect my system, anybody
knows if this is problematic?.

Even If a deinstall xscreensaver the screensaver from kde will still be
active, anyone knows a effective way to disable the screen saver in the
gnome and also in kde?. I want to let it disable so it won't start when the
user log in, and so the user cannot activate it

thanks

;-)  Vicente
