Every 15 minutes, I get messages like this in /var/log/messages...
Nov 20 09:14:13 gateway kernel: eth0: remaining active for wake-on-lan
Nov 20 09:14:13 gateway kernel: eth1: remaining active for wake-on-lan
Nov 20 09:14:13 gateway kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:0e.0
Nov 20 09:14:13 gateway kernel: PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 00:04.2
Nov 20 09:14:13 gateway kernel: eth0: Setting full-duplex based on negotiated link capability.
Nov 20 09:14:13 gateway kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 10 for device 00:10.0
Nov 20 09:14:13 gateway kernel: PCI: Sharing IRQ 10 with 00:06.0
Nov 20 09:14:13 gateway kernel: eth1: Setting full-duplex based on negotiated link capability.
I have the apm daemon stopped, yet this is still happening. Can anyone tell me what the cause of this might be? I cannot find any cron that is supposed to run every 15 minutes (allthough, I don't know of all the places to look).
Check BIOS settings maybe? It definitely looks like something is trying to get the NIC to go to sleep.
Regards, Ed.
