Redhat Academic Desktop / Server

Just FYI, since I know there are some(?) people here teaching classes using
RH, IIRC.
I've been pursuing this with the RH sales the last couple days since Ed Wilts
forward us the link to the news.
The last info I got, they are still finalizing everything, although very
likely the price we've seen in the news is correct. The availibility will be
in about 2 weeks. A person from redhat in tarron-list said RH Academic Server
is based on RHEL AS rather then ES (as mentioned in the news).
The product will have support and life-cycle as RHEL (ie. 5 years errata).

IMO, this is a good deal for the edu institution. I am already looking at
deploying some Server and Desktop with this. And once software that we use to
build our cluster for High performance computation support RHEL in few
months, we're most likely going to use this for our beowulf cluster.

All right, that's all.
