Got me there ;-) I admit, once my system was unstable I didn't bother
fiddling with lynx & after reverting, I considered it a "bad experience
of the past" without googling further. 

Quite troublesome though if up2date simply installs without warning 
me -- and then breaks rpm so I can't roll back.
