You need to check the sendmail documentation. Look specifically at 
virtusertable and genericstable. This does mapping for user domains.
Basically, they tell sendmail:
     mail for jdoe@xxxxxxxxxxx give to user jdoe
Then for outgoing:
     when jdoe sends mail, say it's from jdoe@xxxxxxxxxxx

This should do it.  If you load Webmin, this is done very easily. However, by 
default genericstable useage isn't enabled in sendmail. You have to add a 
line to your sendmail.mc file and generated a new sendmail.cf. No biggie, 
though.
