Creating text files for windows

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi

I am trying to create a text file that has several lines which can be viewed
in Windows notepad.

at the moment if I use echo or printf "hi there\nnext line"
the poutut in notepad looks like "hi there[]next line" but I cannot produce
a new line. Wordpad gets it right but that is not the issue as a piece of
Windows software must read the text file and fails so far.

Any help most greatfully accepted

Mike
