You would have to write your own script to check the DNS address your
machine has after boot up, then write the address to the dhcpd.conf file and
then start dns.  I don't know of any other way.  If you set up named to run
on the linux box, you can set your xp clients to use the linux box as their
dns and it will resolve names for you.  Using named is the much
better/easier method.  (named is the dns server)

would it be possible to pass DNS info to xp clients
under an iptables masquerade.

the ip addresses are manually entered but i'd like to
pass on DNS info from the linux box ( which is
dynamically allocated.. cable modem )
