If you have RH 9 already in an up2date system, I don't understand why you 
would want to do re-install of the same RH version. You mentioned about 
getting rid of accumulated junk. I'd think it's easier to clean it up than 
doing re-install.

AFA I can think of, no, there should not be a major problem. But I've never 
done a re-install or upgrade for that matter. I always do fresh clean 
install. You probably need to run up2date after reinstall though and updating 
your system again, since I'd think the install will put your system as in the 
distro CD (with the outdated RPMs).
