gnome dying - X Window System error

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi Everyone,

Gnome on redhat 9 stopped working after my last logout. Trying to startx
as either root or myself gets me:

(gnome-session:19282): CRITICAL**:file gdkxft.c line 289 (gdk_gc_unref):
ssertion 'private_>ref_count>0 'failed

RenderBadPicture (invalid Picture parameter)
serial 388 error_code 181 request_code 154 minor_code 8

The program 'gnome-session' received an X Window System error

My .xsession-errors file just states: Preloading /usr/lib/libgdkxft.so.0

Does anybody have any ideas about how to get gnome working again?

Thanks,

Jenn
